With the last crowded day of Indian Auto Expo 2012, the craze in India folded back for a year wait again. Now people will wait will the next year to see the next gen advancements. That was all for India, but the Detroit Motor Show has also started and has overlapped the Auto Expo. Detroit Motor Show has started this Jan and has many major things to thrill up every mind. Almost every international brand takes some tokens of this event to show off everything they got. A major part of attraction was poised towards the future Hyundai Veloster Turbo. The engine pumps out nearly 138hp of power plus an additional 63hp from turbocharger which gets it competitive in the high powered hatchback segments. The shape is very fresh but resembles a little bit of Honda CR-Z, just a little bit. It’s a very new hatchback form which will be loved by most of the public.

Volkswagen, a brand under the shadow Volkswagen AG unveiled three of it’s products to penetrate more into the Indian automotive market. The brand has gained a lot of appreciation from the launch of its previous products named Polo, Vento, Jetta and Passat. The advanced technology has proved to be scoring to get such a reputation in a small span of time. The three products being launched in Auto Expo 2012 were all new Beetle, the shining Touareg and the new concept XL1. The first product that gathered a lot of attention was the XL1 concept, which is a small segment car powered up by the 800cc diesel engine mated with a hybrid motor. The car gets 49ps from the diesel engine and 27ps from the electric motor which when combined gives an excellent fuel economy.

The Automotive Fairs are a great chance for each and every brand to showcase about their happenings and developments. Toyota, the world’s top leading brand in the automotive industry unveiled three of it’s instances in the Auto Expo 2012 in Delhi. Their stall hosted a variety of vehicles that was easily grabbing a lot of attention which included the new Toyota Etios Racing Concept, new Liva Racing Concept, face-lifted Innova, new Fortuner, Camry and Corolla. Chevrolet is all set to get thrills to the car enthusiasts through plethora of vehicles in its four-segmented stall. The things are going to change from old and the brand has plans to dig deep inside the Indian automotive market by fine tuning its present models. Chevrolet divided the stall in three segments named Chevrolet Next, Chevrolet Technology and Innovation and Chevrolet Performance. Chevrolet Next section is showcasing the products that will be launched in this year. This includes an uplifted Tavera called as Tavero Neo3 which is all spiced up with refreshing look. The new 2012 Tavera will now not look boring and simple vehicle; it will rather carry some bold looks. The front grille is split into two with Chevrolet Badge at centre. The bumpers are adapted to carry some sporty looks. The 4-cylinder, 2.0 litre TCDi diesel engine churns out 106.8ps @ 4,000 rpm and a torque of 263.7Nm @ 2,500 rpm. The model will also be available in a 2.5 litre turbocharged BS3 engine option.

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled some new jewels in the Auto Expo 2012. Land Rover is a significant brand and is known for its stubborn SUVs that are heavily capable and rugged for all terrains. There are currently 13 outlets of Jaguar Land Rover in India which are responsible for the business operations. The company has plans to expand the increasing needs by growing the number of outlets. Auto Expo 2012 witnessed 4 new models by Jaguar Land Rover which included Land Rover’s Defender Concept 100, Defender Concept 100 Sport, Jaguar C-X16 (sports car) and Jaguar C-X75 (again a sports car). Along with these new models, the company also displayed the XF, XJ and XK models which are already leading their segments. The company has got a great appreciation on stalls for the new models and is looking to put them into real production models in the later years.

BMW has launched its Mini brand in India with 4 different models through the platform of Auto Expo 2012. The brand is all set to set its foot to compete against the Volkswagen Beetle and Fiat 500. The four models include MINI Cooper, MINI Cooper S, Convertible and Cooper S Convertible. Although the brand is arriving late but still the BMW is confident about it and says that strong branding will support a lot. The base variant will be priced at Rs.24.99 lacs, the Cooper S will be at Rs.27.99 lacs, Convertible at Rs.29.99 and Cooper S Convertible at Rs.31.99 lacs. The cars will not be manufactured in the country and will rather be imported as a sole unit. The bookings have already been started and the cars will be delivered in the month of March.
