Volkswagen Unveiled the Next Steps in India at Auto Expo
Volkswagen, a brand under the shadow Volkswagen AG unveiled three of it’s products to penetrate more into the Indian automotive market. The brand has gained a lot of appreciation from the launch of its previous products named Polo, Vento, Jetta and Passat. The advanced technology has proved to be scoring to get such a reputation in a small span of time. The three products being launched in Auto Expo 2012 were all new Beetle, the shining Touareg and the new concept XL1.
The first product that gathered a lot of attention was the XL1 concept, which is a small segment car powered up by the 800cc diesel engine mated with a hybrid motor. The car gets 49ps from the diesel engine and 27ps from the electric motor which when combined gives an excellent fuel economy.
The next big attraction was the Touareg, an SUV that has the power to rule the road. VW launched the latest model of Touareg which is 41mm longer and 12mm wider and comes with a host of features like standard all-wheel drive, panoramic roof and Bi-xenon headlights.
Another big step was the launch of new Beetle. The car does a significant exterior job that does not resemble the older looks but yet retained the retro looks. The car will be powered up by 1.2L and 1.4L TSI engines developing 105ps and 160ps of power. The car now has a rival, the BMW MINI which was also a part of the Auto Expo 2012.
Volkswagen was also planning to launch a small car Up, but however due to some unwanted circumstances the things got delayed. This car is planned to attract the huge masses in the small car segment.
