AC Schnitzer or its full name AC Schnitzer Automobile Technik is a tuning company that concentrates on MINI and BMW automobiles. This company has carved out a niche and today is regarded as an iconic brand which has a great reputation. The company AC Schnitzer which is headquartered in Aachen of Germany was founded in 1967. The major areas of focus for this car tuning company are the chassis and the aerodynamic component. It does offer looks improvement along with the overall performance and safety improvement services.
The IAA organized in Frankfurt is abuzz with the news of the AC Schnitzer rolling out its own version of BMW 1 Series M Coupe. The German tuning company is bringing forth both looks as well as performance revisits in the form of the tuned BMW 1 Series M Coupe.
The engine of the AC Schnitzer tuned BMW 1 Series M Coupe comes in 3.0 liter turbocharged engine form which can crank out 400 horsepower at 6100 rpm which is an improvement of 60 horsepower with the original model which came with 340 hp. The engine generates 560 Nm of maximum torque at 4700 rpm. The torque has seen an improvement of 110 Nm which is quite a lot. This improvement is a result of various things that the German tuner has deployed, most notably and commonly a revised exhaust system and a remapped ECU unit in the car. The tuned version is able to offer a sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just a matter of 4.7 seconds. At the same time, the top speed that it can attain is 300 km per hour. It also comes equipped with the high performance brakes where the front one comes with 6-piston fixed caliper whereas the rear has a 4-piston fixed caliper one. For additional safety it is also equipped with the AC Schnitzer racing suspension.
The tuned BMW 1 Series M Coupe is a visual delight for sure. The body kit comes with bonnet specific air vents. The front spoiler and rear diffuser are also new in the tuned version. The weight of the tuned version is quite less because of the extensive use of the strong yet light carbon fiber in the components. The rear end silencer tailpipe is a racing twin sports chromed one. There is a wide range of 19 and 20 inch wheels that one can choose from.
The interiors are quite exciting and it appears that AC Schnitzer has left no stone unturned. The painted center console and the interior trim are available in Valencia Orange. You would also get aluminum used quite a lot of places on the inside that gives it an even better look and expensive feel. You can go for the Alcantara wrapped steering wheel as well. The seats are made in such a way that it gives you a feel and comfort of a racing oriented car.
You would love the car through its aerodynamic looks but might opt for another car as the performance doesn’t depicts the most powerful engine for higher price as there are other options too. The pricing details of the AC Schnitzer tuned BMW 1 Series M Coupe have not been made out yet, so that is another factor to fade away.
