In the Frankfurt Auto Show of this year, the iconic German car maker, Audi AG launched a number of cars in its S line up which were S6, S7 and S8. S7 is a more powerful rendering of the Audi A7 Sportback. Audi A7 has captured the attention of the car lovers around the world with its best in the class aesthetics and looks. Audi S7 does not differ much with the Audi A7 in aesthetics but the major arena of improvement is the power and performance. The S7 is more or less a steroid injected A7 that offers a great jump in terms of performance.
So let’s have a look at what kind of performance Audi S7 Sportback has to offer. As we mentioned, S7 a performance oriented version of Audi A7. So in order to achieve the much needed boost in the performance, the engine used in Audi S7 is a completely different engine than what they have used in Audi A7. The 3.0 Liter V6 engine of Audi A7 is replaced with a new twin turbo 4.0 Liter V8 engine that improves the performance of the Audi A7 which generates 296 hp of power and 325 pound feet of torque to the boosted performance of Audi S7 which generates a whopping 420 hp of power and 406 pound feet of torque. Audi S7’s powerful engine makes it possible for the car to achieve the acceleration from 0 to 62 miles per hour within mere 4.9 seconds. The top speed of the car is electronically limited to stay at 155 miles per hour as per the German car makers’ agreement. The fuel consumption of the Audi S7 remains at a fine figure which is 24.25 miles per gallon. It is equipped with the dynamic seven speed S tronic transmission.

Coming to the exteriors and the looks of the new S7, you would find no substantial difference between the looks of Audi A7 and Audi S7. This five door car is designed with a low roof line because of which the S7 looks more like a sophisticated coupe. The rear spoiler improves the stability at high speeds. The engine hood is long and this gives it a unique character. Among other attractions, you would find the most appealing ones to be the 19 inch wheels, matte black brake calipers with S7 logos and the S badges. The aluminum body helps reduce the weight considerably.
The sports theme is dominating on the interiors as well. One can see the marriage of luxury and sportiness in the interiors of the new 2012 Audi S7. You would be able to see the S badges and the usage of aluminum finish at various places. The high quality Pearl Nappa leather and Alcantara material has been used on the inside that gives it a luxurious look on the inside.
The price of the 2012 Audi S7 has not been made public yet but we expect the price to be in the neighborhood of $80,000, yeah that’s an oomph but the power thrills a lot under a hot brand.
