Honda Brio vs Hyundai Eon
A short time span of dew weeks, the two small hatchbacks came out in the market from two legendary brands. Honda, a pioneer in creating bold and eye catching cars rolled out its Brio (bree-oo) few weeks ago which is a small compact car with engine churning out 88ps of max power. In context, the Hyundai, creator of innovative technologies placed a mini hatchback, Eon. It gets a smaller engine producing only 56ps of power which is relatively less as compared to that of Brio. So, both the cars will be representing a different segment in the same hatchback form.
Honda Brio is the smallest car from the brand and is also the cheapest model from house. The exteriors are completely fresh and are targeted to attract youth. The front grille is small and bold, rear lid is more of a glass rather than being half metal and half glass and complete the shape is aerodynamic which is slanted upwards from front window to the rear. The interiors don’t attract much and are just simple plastic being arranged as what the normal cars do. The dashboard design could have been better as the things don’t look like seamless. Brio is powered with a 1.2L iVTEC engine pumping out 88ps of power. Brio returns about 18km per litre through its advanced designed engine. Power steering, air conditioning, central locking is standard in all. A new feature is introduced which tells the fuel consumption of car.
Talking about the Hyundai Eon, we may say that it’s going to bring some change in the low segment cars. It’s competitive price range and functionality is definitely a change for buyers as they didn’t had much choice before its launch. It is not going to compete with Honda Brio as the price segment is totally different, rather it will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Alto, A-star and Chevrolet Spark. Eon is powered by a 0.8L 3-cylinder engine which focuses on economical ride. It tosses a max power of 56hp with a max torque of 76.5Nm @ 4000 rpm and will ride about 21km for one litre petrol. So don’t expect an impressive ride with Eon as its prime motto is to stay economical in every aspect. The interiors are good and fresh. The dashboard design is simple yet attractive with things placed right at place with minimum cluttering.
Hyundai Eon vs Honda Brio is not a feasible comparison as both the cars are from different price segment with varied engine capabilities. Eon price band is placed around Rs. 2.7lacs (approx $5500)-Rs3.7lacs (approx $7500) whereas the Brio starts from Rs. 3.95lacs(approx $7900) and ends at Rs5.10lacs (approx $10200).

Great Comparison!
