Fiat Punto Grande: Little Drive Verdict
It was a feeling of driving a king’s car. I was amazed with such a large space and comfy seats. Fiat Punto is a marvelous creation by the company that is being picked up so fast. Few attributes which can define Punto are- Comfort, body balance, looks and on road stability.
When I first sat on the seat, it just felt like sitting on a sofa with such huge seats. The seats immersed the body so comfortably that you won’t feel in any other of it rivals. The next handy thing was the ignition key placement which was faced opposite to the driver seat and was visible clearly. The side placement if the ignition system is ok, but I guess, no company had ever thought of placing it facing front. It is so easily accessible.
Fiat has a habit of making heavy body shells that are tough and durable. Punto weighs almost the same as the Figo and i20, but feels a lot more when driven. The body balance during cornering was awesome and the suspension setup is absolutely perfect. The thing that missed was the quick response from throttle. The car is good on greater speeds and you won’t feel jerks even at speeds above 100kmph, but when you need to overtake, you can’t with many cars.
Punto is available in both petrol and diesel formats and competes with Ford Figo, Fiesta Hatchback, Hyundai i20 and Volkswagen Polo. The price range bracket starts from around £11,595 in UK. Overall, the car is good for highways actually where steady speeds and stable cars are more successful.
