Even when I was very young, I always wanted to own a Dodge. I didn’t cared about things like car insurance or safety recommendations, I simply wanted a car that I liked and felt would make me look good around town. I know this sounds a bit supercilious but I was only 18 years old at the time and, well, sometimes those things were simply more important!
Of course, things have changed now and that I am more mature but I have to say that the latest release Dodge Challenger is a real winner from me.
Dodge Challenger RedMy experience with Dodge motor vehicles goes back over 30 years now and I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for them. After I married and had children I tended to go for other models that I felt were more suited to my lifestyle and with plenty of cheap options on the market I let my passion for owning a Dodge take a back seat for a few years.
This year however I am back on the bandwagon and have bought a brand-new Dodge Challenger and I couldn’t be happier. I simply love the retro design that takes me back to my younger days and, in some respect, I am able to relive the days of my youth with a fair bit of nostalgia and excitement at the same time!
This is a real muscle car and I have had to subdue my feelings of excess whenever I get behind the wheel. This is a car that will do whatever you want it to do, and then some. This means I have to be very careful when driving because it is so easy to let the car have its head, which could land you in trouble with the police!
What I really like about it is that it is a real head turner. I can’t deny it, but this really makes me feel good and what I enjoy most is driving past a bank of full size glass windows so I can see the reflection of my vehicle as I drive past!
In fact, this is the closest Dodge to the car of the 1970s that I really admired the most, and when you add some modern extras like fog lamps, 18 inch aluminum wheels and a body colour rear spoiler, not to mention a deeper front air dam with functional brake ducts, it is easy to see why I think it is a winner.
I know the car industry has been going through a terrible period recently and that’s what makes the Dodge even more exciting for me. It’s a car that represents a departure from the recent troubles experienced by the industry and a return to the values of an earlier era when cars were solid, safe and long-lasting.
Of course, the days of my youth are behind me now but I can still relive my earlier passions when I get behind the wheel of this new Dodge Challenger. Don’t worry, I now have more mature attitude to things like car insurance which, incidentally, I checked out before I made the purchase!
