Audi A6 Review: Beginning of Luxurious Aspects
Audi, A6 cars tend to focus more on luxury as the segment competes against the other saloon cars like Mercedes Benz CLS and BMW 6 Series. On our previous reviews up to the A5 Series, the cars exhibited different platforms on similar machines to give each buyer his choice of shapes, but from A6 Series of Cars, Audi shortens its range with a sharp focus on luxurious aspects and performance on each platform of car. What the buyer gets on this series is more comfort and convenience.
The Audi A6 has quite a similar looks of that of A5, and boasts a beautifully streamlined body too. The main difference between A5 and A6 is the platform on which they are built. A5 is built as a coupe on the A4 chassis which is also found in VW Jetta, while the A6 has a whole different platform. The size of Audi A6 is quite larger and roomier than the A5. The reason for the difference is A5 is built for sportier performances whereas A6 is made for comfort and luxury.
There are extra features that emit the comfort levels of Audi A6. The suspensions used in A6 are four link suspension adding more leveled riding and control. The suspension system is dynamic that can be adjusted accordingly to the ride. The Multi Media Interface (MMI) is standard in A6 including AM/FM, single disc Cd/Mp3 and 2x memory card readers. This MMI is DSP enabled and is connected with 10 speaker set.
Automatic Light and Rain sensors also come as a standard system. For added safety, there are exit lights and reflectors in each door. Fog lights, rear LED lamps are also the default lights in the A6 series.
Now talking about the interiors in the A6, the equipments used are more perfect and attractive than the lower series. Standard features include dual zone climate control, heated rear glass, heat insulating glasses, four spoke steering wheel, reading lights in front and rear and illuminated vanity mirrors. There are other features too like 6 disc changer, DVD navigation system which are added in the higher trim levels of the Audi A6.
People who are currently driving Mercedes or BMW might take time to get along with Audi as the nature of controls changes. The way one drives solely depends on that person. For example, the person driving a Mercedes will have a habit of adjusting the seat of that car only and when he drives an Audi, he will still search for controls on the location of Mercedes few times. That is a human habit, and it takes time to change it.
Audi A6 Series is split into three platforms: Saloon, Avant and Allroad Quattro. The Quattro system is not as standard in all the models as the models are not based on sportier performances.

There is not much variation in the functional features while varying the trim levels. The major changes in the trim levels are the upholstery, alloy wheels, and few minor chunks of parts that add good looks.
