VW New Golf: A Review

Volkswagen Golf is among the top hatchback cars counted worldwide. Handling, comfort and looks are precisely defined in this car, and that’s why it costs bigger then others.

Normally people have options in cars from different companies for comparisons. But here with new VW Golf, the story is different. Once you have chosen to buy Golf, you have to indulge yourself in choosing with so many different variants of the same car, whether in petrol or in diesel engine.

Volkswagen new Golf is available in many different engines varying from 1.2L to 1.4L petrol, optionally turbocharged and from 1.6L to 2.0L diesel engines. The power also varies widely from 85ps to 160ps that can churn to speed bursts. Transmissions are also available in options as 5 speed manual, 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and 7 speed automatic. The whole model can be chosen as a 30door hatchback or a 5-door hatchback.

The newer models are fine tuned with engine as well as the looks. The interiors are all designed with soft plastic material that looks more elegant and classy now. The music system is more powerful and comes with support for I-pod. Controls of music system are incorporated in a touch screen centered in the dashboard. Few of the standard features include climate control A/C, electrically controlled and heated mirrors, driver side knee air bag for extra safety, tilt and telescopic steering, body colored door handles, cooled glove box, hill hold function, heated rear windscreen, central locking, ABS, ESP, reading lights and delayed cabin lights. Still there is much more to explore as the car is loaded very smartly with features.

This 6^th generation model is beautifully designed with use of some decent appeals. The use of heavy chrome is reduced to just VW badge on the front grille and in the outlining of the fog lamps. Remaining looks have been kept simple yet bold. The new ten spoke alloy wheels give an aggressive looks to vehicle on rest and on drive as well. From the back is again a simple heavy look with big horizontal laid taillights and dual exhausts.      

The name of the older Golf has always been in rumor but this time the company has finally introduced the newer version as Golf only. The car is a best buy but a bit costly affair.
