A famous variation known as V-Rod, on a whole black body version is a beautiful piece of engineering. It carries a 1250 cc V-twin engine producing a power of 111Nm @ 7200 rpm. The model is also been referred to as a night rider due to its all black presence. Its air scoops and side cover add to its urban look whereas the whole body is designed to give it a contemporary look. Its wider rear tire gives it a very weighted presence on road.

The V Rod was launched in 2001 to compete the American and Japanese muscle bikes. The engine of V Rod was the first combination of various intelligent techniques firstly used by any other Harley. The two features that gave it an all distinct look is the location of the fuel tank under the seat and the V shape engine blocks inclined at 60 degree to each other. The bike is available in 4 colors: Vivid Black, Dark Blue Denim; Red Hot Sunglo, and Brilliant Silver; among these, only the black version is launched in India. People say that this bike may take on place among the other high performance bikes like Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki or so, but I say that Harley’s image is different. There would be no exchange in buyers’ intentions.

With so much of long journey from 2001 to 2007, the model has got lots of updates. And now the latest model with a lot of improvements stands with us boasting about Harley’s Engineering. The features include 5 spoke alloy wheels, LED back lights and indicators, ABS Braking, Wide Front Forks as in most Harleys and a lot more is loaded to be discovered.
