New Wagon R 2010: The Blue Eyed Boy

Blue Eyed Boy is the title given to the New Wagon R 2010. From interiors to exteriors, the car is a lot of change. The changees are to such an extent that Maruti could have launched a separate model with some other name. The looks of new Wagon R are currently getting a mixed review from people all around. Few say, ‘WOoooow’ and few say, ‘I don’t know why company bothered so much for these looks’. But we all know, Maruti models have always been a huge success, whether in the start or a bit late after launch.

The new Wagon R 2010 is expanded in the length and width by 100mm and 30 mm. Front looks are uplifted by widening the grille and by adding chrome highlighting to it. The new headlights contain a unique Blue Lens on the parking lights and that’s why the car is named as Blue Eyed Boy. Front and rear fog lamps have been added for clear visibility during bad weather. Rear wiper and defogger are also added for clear visibility for back side.

Interiors are all developed with efforts to give the car a more comfy look. The whole new dashboard is pre installed with music system( in high end model) with speakers at each door to give good surround effect, although a woofer could also have been added by increasing the cost of car by 3-4 thousand bucks which is not a matter of concern. The steering is collapsible and the car is installed with optional dual air bags in front. For safety caution, the car is also equipped with ABS (optional for buyer)

The new Wagon R 2010 is available in 3 models LX, LXi and VXi. LX is the basic model which does not contains neither any power windows nor the central locking feature. LXi is added with front power windows and central locking. There is a driver seat belt reminder too. The VXi is the high end version including features like keyless entry, all power windows and adjustable power steering. ABS and SRS airbags are still at user option. The price starts from Rs. 3,28,563 from the base model LX and ends at Rs. 3,86,481 at VXi model without ABS.
