New Pulsar 135: Introduction of Light Sports
Bajaj has set his goal to focus more in the bike segment. The company has spared a lot of time in always experimenting with its revolutionary bike, Pulsar. Now again with a whole new concept, the company has launched a light sport bike, Pulsar 135cc.
Looks and Styling
Pulsar 135 possesses a very new design concept with its aerodynamic design. Eye catching front looks, sporty designed fuel tank, new meter console and two step split seat gives the new pulsar a very sporty and fresh look. I wasn’t able to resist myself, when I first looked at the bike. The bike is designed perfectly all over except the rear looks. They aren’t much appealing as the whole bike is. This mistake was previously done in XCD, and now again is being repeated in Pulsar 135. Might be the company has got tired of designing the whole bike, so left the rear part for the next re-make of bike.
Engine
Its 134.6 cc engine is yet a very powerful version of all DTS-I engines launched previously. All the earlier engines where running by 2 valves, but this newer engine is built with 4 valve technology delivering extra power and better mileage( up to 55-65 kmpl). The wider rpm band goes upto 10,500, so the engine can be revved higher at all gears to take out the maximum output from the bike.
The max power generated by bike is 13bhp@9000rpm and the maximum torque it can give is 11.4Nm@7500rpm. The pick up of bike is excellent as compared to the XCD 135. You can compare this bike’s engine power to that of Pulsar 150.
Comfort and Safety
The bike features a light weight diamond type chasis to add to its light sportier looks. The shock ups are native Pulsar gas filled Nitrous shock absorbers. No change in brakes, the standard front disk (240 mm) and rear drum (130mm) brakes.
Engine and overall looks are the newer thing in this pulsar and rest of the features are same like electric switches, low fuel indicator, low battery indicator etc. The bike is being introduced to target the mid segment bikers who want both power and economy with good styling. The bike is priced approximately Rs 51000 and it costs around Rs. 56500 on road. If you like the bike, then don’t hesitate or confuse yourself into other bikes, Pulsar 135 is a good option.
