Ford Figo, Male, March 2010
Ford is getting a lot serious into Indian car market. Fiesta, Endeavour and Ikon are the company’s most successful models and capture a good share in their segment. The company has invested $500 millionin it’s manufacturing unit in Chennai and the capacity has increased to that of 2,00,000 units per year.
Ford Figo will be the next launch in March 2010. The petrol engine will be powered with 1.2ltr,1200cc Duratec engine producing 75Bhp of max power, and the diesel engine will assemble with 1.5ltr, 1400cc Duratorq engine producing max power of 68Bhp. The looks are more like Ford Fusion with a few major changes. The headlights and the front grille are giving the car a sporty and a very fresh look in it’s B segment cars.
The estimated price range of Figo will be between 3.5lacs to 5 lacs which can call it a low budget car. Power steering and A/C will come as standard fittings, Rest other features like power windows, in-built sterero, fog lamps, central locking, rear wiper and defogger will vary with the models.
The competition in mid-size car is getting serious now . All the major companies are all focusing on this segment beacuse the sale of this segment is a lot more than any other segment. Figo will have to face the competition with i10,Ritz, Swift, New Cheverolet Beat, i20 and it’s going to be tough because all are models are already a huge success.
Adding to the news is that Ford Figo is named as Ford Focus in other countries. The company has launched Ford Focus Limited Edition globally on 9th April 2010. It’s a new and powerful limited edition Focus RS model, called the RS500, being launched for ultimate performance. Ford will be providing the definitive driving experience for serious performance car enthusiasts.
Making its global debut at the 2010 Leipzig Motor Show in Germany on April 9, the new model has been titled the RS500 designation to particularly highlight its strictly-limited production run of 500 individually-numbered vehicles, all of which will be available for customers to purchase.
The new Focus RS500 features a muscular 350 PS 2.5-litre 5-cylinder engine, which generates 15 per cent more power than the standard Focus RS and delivers truly exhilarating performance. I hope it’s a good news for people. Go Grab the new Limited Edition and be among the 500 owners.
